rubber and plastic sheathing, inner tubes, wire.   4’ x 30” x 30”     1998

I sometimes source metal from wholesale salvage companies. wandering through enormous gritty warehouses, I once came upon an old guy feeding various kinds of sheathed wire and cable through a machine that stripped the rubber and plastic casings off, so the wire could be reclaimed. snaking ribbons of rubber and plastic were the castoffs from that process. viscerally muscular.
